I'm hoping this doesn't count as soliciting, but here goes nothing.

I am the team captain for Steel City Score Attack, and we are participating in Extra Life this weekend. If you don't know what that is, and you are a gamer, you owe it to yourself to check it out. Donate to our team, or bookmark it for next year and start your own!

Extra life is an annual Gaming Marathon that benefits your local children's miracle network hospital, which in our case is Pittsburgh Children's Hospital. I've included a link to our team page, and would appreciate it if you checked it out. Donate money if you can, and if you can't, donate your time and forward the info to everyone you know. A little background info: There are 296 beds at Pittsburgh Children's Hospital - that means that for every 296 dollars we get, they will have an extra dollar to spend on each current patient.

The point is, you can help hundreds of kids in our own communities with just a few dollars or a few minutes of your time. Please help if you are able.

That link is: www.extra-life.org/team/steelcity (Edit for 2012: Note that this link is obsolete - See below for new link!)

Thank you for reading!

Mods: If you do consider this post soliciting or otherwise offensive, I'll apologize and delete it, no hard feelings.

Bump! Why? Because we're crazy enough to do it again this year, that's why! Last year, we raised over a thousand dollars for the Children's Hopspital of Pittsburgh Foundation, and this year we want to take it further! This is a very important cause - each year, Children's treats thousands of kids regardless of their family's ability to pay. Help us show the world how much Pittsburgh gamers care!

This year's marathon will be held from 8am on October 20th to 8 am on October 21st, 2012.

Even if you can't donate, feel free to forward the Fundraising page to everyone you know. Chances are, you know someone whose life was changed for the better by the good people at Children's!
