Would it be bad of us to open the panel application without a concrete date?
We were thinking of opening it up to get people submitting panels to keep interest going strong!

Any complaints?

I cant think of any non-dopey way to ask this, so Im just gonna ask it...

Wouldnt it be better to put up the tekko panel applications before starting to work on the Sangawa panel applications? o__0

Forgive me is Im missing something. I just dont see why we would want to have the forms for sangawa, which isnt till July-something, before the forms for Tekko, which is in March.

A fuzzy date is probably fine.  My guess is that most people who are gung-ho about submitting panels already know which ones they want to do.

To sound like a nasty... I was only asking for Sangawa as I want to get it rolling now.  I know when Tekko's form is going up, I am asking to see if people would be adverse to submitting panels for a show with no firm dates.

I thought I'd ask.. I'll give the go ahead to the programming head to have both go live at the same time then.

Why I don't mind panels being opened early, I have no idea what I'd be doing or if I would be even able to attend.  I've only just started work on the panels I plan to do for Tekko.

I really don't think this is going to help or hinder.

If you plan on doing it early, make sure there's confirmation sent to the applicants early and/or often so they don't forget that they applied.

Holding the application until there are dates would help to reduce withdrawn applications. While I would like to submit my panel idea as soon as I can, I'd rather wait for some firm dates.

The problem is, we may be fighting to get dates for quite a while.  The Bestwestern looks like it may be changing ownership and franchise.  This is making it a little awkward for us at the moment.  We will have fuzzy dates for a while.  Basically, we are shooting for after AX but before Otakon again.

What we are trying to do is get a head start on programming so we can schedule a little earlier.  Even with a 25% drop rate, there is still enough to build core programming around.  I need to make sure things are rolling for Sangawa early, as my work on Tekkoshocon XI has already started.  Next year's Tekko is having some venu additions to plan for.  Also, musical act preps for XI have started already.

Since Sangawa is small, are other hotels an option?  Nobody probably wants to go back to the what is now the Greentree Doubletree after how much fun Hallway Con was, but that might be viable given Sangawa's size.

Although that's probably a discussion for another thread :-)

Oh yeah, the Green Tree Doubletree is fine for an Event the size of Sangawa.  The price there is insane though.  It fits with the discussion thread fine.
Here is why:  We are trying to discuss panels app opening without dates for the show.  The show needs dates.  In order for there to be dates there must be a venue.  So, for the panels application opening up early to be properly accepted by the community the site and dates must be discussed... QED: on topic.

Alright, I'll have it up within the next week or so.  Gotta get my Tekko stuff done first, though.

OmegaGamer89: Also, two different panels heads for the shows.  And Tekko's has gone up. :P So no issue anymore.
