Besides shooters, we will have the usual smorgasboard of fighters this year, right? Fighters I'd reccomend would be Tekken 6, Mortal Kombat 9, King of Fighters 13, and of course Street Fighter. (Any of them!) Which fighters would you guys like to see at this years Tekko?

All of them.

Seriously though, I want to know who to talk to about bringing an arcade machine in. I want to bring SF2: Hyper Fighting in the full machine.

Clue, talk to me (in PMs).

We have some special things lined up for fighters, including Soul Calibur V and Street Fighter X Tekken tournaments.  I hadn't thought that there would be that much interest in Mortal Kombat, but if it's what you want, it's probably going to be made available.  What else?  Personally I like BlazBlue... might there be interest there?

How about also some obscure fighters, like Arcana Heart or Skullgirls? And it would be awesome to have Soul Calibur V and Street Fighter X Tekken as well.

I think customized characters in DBZ Budokai 3 would be a bad idea, Piccolo + both transformations + concentration + Light Grenade + maxed Ki = broken character.

I think Godzilla Unleashed might work (Wii), but Destroyah has an unfair move, Horn Katana.

I'd definitely say SoulCalibur 5 or Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. I just need time to practice.

As for a Mortal Kombat tournament, we might have to do it late at night when the kids are asleep.

Mortal Kombat isn't going to be part of Tekko, unfortunately.  We try to make sure that the environment is accessible, which means that M-rated games get evaluated on a case-by-case basis.  MK doesn't make the cut, unfortunately, for a number of reasons: some due to oversaturation of fighters, but also because the MK name might attract undue attention from people who are less receptive to the idea of video gaming than we would prefer them to be.  It sucks, I know, but we have to do what's best for everyone and sometimes that means making some hard decisions.  However, we'll try to get it lined up for Sangawa Project.

I would like to put out there, that it's kinda silly that the con hasn't run BlazBlue for 2 years in a row. Or Melty Blood for that matter, Pittsburgh has scenes for both of those games. Heck, CMUKen has been trying to get a hold of someone about potentially either streaming or recording matches in the game room. But games I'd say should be definites are KOF, SSFIV AE 2012, UMvC3, SFxT, and make up for last year when the whole room voted for Jackie Chan in Fist of Fire to be con choice and it never got played.

Although I just realized Jackie wouldn't be allowed for the same reasons MK isn't.
2009 TvC Champ (Because Javier wasn't allowed to win)
2010 TvC Runner-up
2011 MvC 3 Winner
2012 SSFIV AE 3rd Place, Street Fighter x Tekken 2nd Place. These don't matter though because it was a joke.

CMUken mahou shoujo #1 Bonkler here for the Pittsburgh fighting game scene. I'd really like to stream any fighting game tournaments (or at least record them and post them up later) We could also potentially provide setups as well as a whole list of poverty fighting games for a mystery tournament or something :3

Also, on a personal note, we should do Blazblue CS EX, it's new and shiny after all.

I agree about the Blazblue. I was kinda sad it wasn't there last year. D:

Considering BlazBlue is one of my favorite recent fighters, it's definitely going to be there. :)

Same. Don't see what the big deal is about melty blood though. Played it, wasn't that great, in my opinion. But I can still see why some people like it. As for Skullgirls, I think it's supposed to come out during the summer?

There's no solid release date for Skullgirls yet beyond "early 2012", so I highly doubt it'll be available.  Problem is, there's already an overabundance of fighters on the slate right now, so it'll be hard to add too many more at the moment without bumping others off. If Skullgirls is released in March, I'll consider it, but right now we're still finalizing everything.  Sorry I can't be of more help.

All of them.

Seriously, there are fighting game tournaments scheduled for every day of the convention.  It would be heartbreaking to miss any of them.
