Okay I've got a room and I'd like to find roommates. I had a terrible experience last year (and if any of my roommates are reading this, they know what I mean; I was Saber-chan on the old boards) so I'm taking charge of organizing a room this year instead.

I've booked a room for 4 people, standard size. That means everyone gets key cards. I don't do room crowding, so I'm looking for 3 other people and that's it. I'm feeling generous, and will pay an extra hundred of the total cost. Room cost for each of the 3 remaining people would be $120. Check-in is Thursday the 22nd, and check-out is Sunday the 25th.

Some details about myself- 25, female, teacher, and grad student. I do cosplay, but may/may not for Tekko. Depends how overwhelmed I feel. Tekko's kinda my getaway from the crazy spring teaching so I like to use it to relax. The room is meant to be a place to chill and hang out, no matter how long you actually spend in the room. No parties, or bringing people by to hang out for long periods in the room. So if you want a non-crowded space where everyone has a bed spot, this might be the place for you.

Also, if anyone is able to help me out with carpool, I'd appreciate it. I come from WV (eastern panhandle), but would prefer not to drive into the city if it can be helped. I can drive to your place if it's along the route or carpool with you and I'd happily pay for my part of the garage fees, and gas too.

ETA: At this point, I've gathered 3 people, but I will post again if there's an opening. However, I'm still looking for options for carpool, especially if the first doesn't work. As of 2/8, both carpool and hotel are accounted for.

In lieu of preparing for my own trip out, I'd like to put my name in for rooming =)

I'm working on a few cosplay ideas but definitely will NOT have them ready by the time Tekko rolls around this year ^^;  But I'm a regular panelist, and will be bringing along my laptop among general clothing and supplies.  I'm based near Harrisburg, PA, and my car is plenty reliable enough to give folks a ride (I'd just have to go south and west a bit to get to WV ).

I've had good times (meaning heard no obvious complaints about my presence) from folks I've roomed with last year ^^ and I'm happy to help split the bill.

And thanks for the ride offer. If you live outside of Harrisburg I could meet you where you live or at least drive part of the distance. But I'm happy to compensate my share for whatever you do.

I'm curious. What sort of panels do you do?

Hello! My friend and I would love to find a room mate for Tekkoshocon. I just have a few questions:
Is the hotel room for all days of the convention? Because my friend and I are both artist alleying this year and if i recall the AA's open on thursday?. (however if your not doing all days thats fine, we can be solo for the non remaining days you aren't but we'd just like a heads up in advance so we can book a room on the side).

Some info about us:
I'm 22 and she's 23, we're artists, fresh out of College. We're from NYC.
We wont be in the room much during the day so you wont have to expect much of our presence then, and we'll likely be back in the room no later than 10 oclock so we wont be disturbing sleeps (we like both sleep and staying up so nothing much bothers us!)

We're not completely anime obsessed and we're pretty tame but fun. =) i hope you'll consider us!

Yes, sorry I forgot to add the days in in my first post. I will be checking in Thursday and checkout is Sunday. I would love to have you both in the room though! As long as I'm not doing anything, I could even try to do some food runs for you two if you need it. I will keep some food in the room probably, but there's no fridge, which makes things a bit harder.

As for food runs xD i'm not sure how spread out the actual convention center is to food places, but thank you for the offer ;w;. We don't want to be a burden on you though. We love exploring places to eat tho so group dinners would be a lot of fun haha.
Those days are perfect, by the way. As for payment should we pay you when we get there?

There's some places nearby easily. McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, etc. I would love doing group dinners Those are the best. You can pay when you get there or give a downpayment now, or pay it off now. Up to you.

I've done Anime Fight Club and the Improv 101/Learn 2 Improv workshops since Tekko...four, I think?  My, how time flies

No problem. I've got your email saved, and I'll PM you my numbers to keep.

I'll probably send out emails closer to con. That way if anyone wants to get to know each other or such, we can do so I'm used to doing it for Otakon with the group I organize. It makes things so much easier and comfortable.

I've only been attending Tekko since '09 and cosplayed as Taiga and Illya in '10.

I could have probably helped with the car pooling since I probably live very closer to where you are, but I am heading north to pick up my girlfriend before I cut across the Ohio Turnpike and down. We're actually staying outside of downtown though, out in Robinson area at the Courtyard. Might run into you though. I personally won't be dressing up except for maybe the dance on Saturday night. Hope your room experience goes a little better this year though.

Well if things fall through with the first, can I still keep you in mind?

I only have one cosplay I'm bringing for Tekko since I'm just happy to get away from work for a few days. I hope it goes better as well. That's the reason why I decided to organize a room this year. It wasn't my other roommates that made the issue, but the guy who had booked the room in the first place. If it had been the rest of us without him, the experience would have been amazing.

Yep. Highly doubt it will fall through but I will be sure to let you know if it does for fall through for any reason. And not worried about room in my Jeep. That's the reason I bought a Grand Cherokee.

And as for food...might I recommend the South Side or the Waterfront if you can get a ride to either. The Waterfront has a dualing piano bar, microbrewery restaurant, and a Dave and Buster's. Plus a lot of other stuff. The South Side has a German Restaurant that is simply amazing. Just a few idea for meals or things to do if you get a chance.
