It was tossed about and in a way, jokeingly said on the Facebook page a while back about some of us older con attendees to get together and hit up a place downtown for drinks, socialize about nerdy and un nerdy things in an adult environement...you know, a chance to get away from the mass amount of younger folks...;)
No but really, anyone interested in such an idea. Probably like Saturday sometime. I'll be at the con all week but won't be staying downtown until the weekend.

My girlfriend and I would probably be up for this at some point! I know Thursday night we already are booked up anyhow, going to Hofbrauhaus and Sing-Sing, but the rest of the nights are pretty open.

I think I'd be interested.  Though I might just stick to the non-alcoholic drinks for the simple reason that alcoholic drinks (when bought at a bar) are so expensive.

Here's a bit of info about U.S. Airways foods and drink:
cost of one snack pack containing nuts, fruit, meat, cheese, crackers, chips, and a cookie: $6
cost of one alcoholic drink: $7
You get all that food for a paltry $6, but you can't get one little alcoholic drink for less than $7?

Trust me Red, I drink enough to be aware of the mark up (most noticable in craft brew)
But I don't mind the extra price here and there...but hey, I never look down at those that chose to keep it NA.

Again, I'm thinking Saturday sometime....location is still up in the air. My first choice is always the Downtown Sharp Edge but that's just me and tends to be out of price range for a lot of people.

I'm game. I don't know of any D-town spots. I know mostly Southside and some of Oakland. Both of which may be stretchs for the con-goer.

There is the hard rock, and McFadden's across the bridge of course. (bit far for some con-goers though)

Yeah, I'd like to keep it decently close...for safety and for just general ease.

All great places Kou, but we again hit that price issue.
Like Zerker, I'm not to hip to casual drinking spots downtown, I'm supposed to be heading that way shortly so I'll take some notes.
trust me though when I saw, we're spending enough money for this con, the last thing my other half is going to want to do is hit up a piece of modern american culinary arts.

For what it's worth, my company prefers Las Velas (in Market Square) as a casual drinking spot. :) I think the River City Inn is still around as well, just past PPG Place (across the street from Ruth Chris).

Would have never guess Las Velas as a casual drinking spot.
River City Inn is still around (according to google maps, I didn't go over that way today)

OK

Here is my list from order of greater perfection to...not.

Diamond Market Grill super close to the hotel..and classic in that sense of "classic"

Andy's also super close

Primanti's has to be on every list...however, going to always be busy during the weekend.

And Olive Or Twist which I actually just spotted today.
I'll probably end up visiting at least 2 of those through out the week either way.
there's always Blush if we wanted to be really mature about it.  hahahhaa

Love the last one there...lol

But no seriously Diamond Market Grill and Oliver or Twist sounds good to me.

I ran the list past the other half last night mostly because she's the one with the cash flow right now and Diamond Market Grill was her choice as well.

Any new news on this meet-up?  Now that the schedule is posted, we may be able to pick a time when most people are available.

Diamond Market Grill seems to be the winner, I would say setup a poll to vote on it if anyone else disagrees that is.

Wow I'm late on this but I'm game for the adult hangout(minus the whole blush idea, my gf would kill me lol).

Update: I guess either this event happened without me (which would have sucked) or didn't happen at all. So yeah um... Well if you guys are going to Sangawa this year I will plan an adult hangout for that. I kind of have experience with making Tekko forum meetups hahaha.

It ended up not happening...at least my planning.
I ended up super busy all con and ended up never being online at all.

It's cool! I'm not mad or anything. I just want outside of Tekko meetups to succeed. It seems like events/meetups as of lately haven't been as great as they been in the past(I used to host a bunch of them and most had good turn outs). If you want to help out with the Sangawa Adult Meetup let me know around Sangawa time!
