So I know there's already a feedback thread, but I figured that those of us without the Guidebook app could use this as a place to leave feedback about specific panels we enjoyed without clogging up the main thread.
So, without further ado, here goes!
Cosplay, Weapons, and You: I've already given the man in charge of this one my praise, but I really can't speak highly enough about this panel. As someone who comes from a family that enjoys hunting and competitive shooting, I think that it's really awesome that someone is trying to promote weapon safety in the cosplay community. My only suggestion would be to either pace it a bit better or allow for additional time since we really didn't get very far past "packing your fake weapons" as far as cosplay is concerned. Nonetheless, a great message and panel.
Digimon Vs. Pokémon: My Childhood Was Better Than Yours: While it was a bit "softer" than most panels information wise, that's about all my brain could handle that early in the morning. It was a lot of fun to reminisce with fans who grew up with both shows in the 90's and I'd happily attend this one again. My only suggestion would be to tweak it more towards the fandoms (online communities, fan art, etc.) since I feel like both panelists had a lot more to offer in that respect that they didn't have time for.
The Laundry List: I only stepped into this one for a bit, but I thought that it was a really great concept. However, from what I saw, most of the topics had very little to do with anime, gaming, etc. While this may have been intentional, I also think it would be great to see a version tweaked to the event's theme.
Judeo-Christian Religiosity in Anime and Manga: I already spoke my praises for this panel in my general feedback post, but essentially I loved this panel because it was run by someone who was clearly an expert and could have spent hours discussing this topic. My only regret is that I couldn't write everything he was saying down fast enough. This panel was what more Tekkoshocon panels should strive to be.
He's Watching You: Slenderman: Also a panel that I enjoyed and deeply respect its panelists. Unlike most "introduction to" panels, they strayed away from the "AND HERE ARE ALL THE CHARACTERS! LOOK HOW MUCH WE LOVE THEM!!!!1!" trap that many panelists at Tekkoshocon fall into. Instead, there was a nice balance of information and (non-spoiler) clips that actually showed me why I should like Slenderman, rather than just telling me. 10/10. Would attend again.
Overall, I would like to, once again, commend every Sangawa panelist for helping to put on a great program. In my humble opinion, if any of the panelists that ran these panels apply again, they should be accepted. They clearly know what they're doing!

The problem I run into when writing material for a game show is that you can't overestimate the audience's knowledge, or else you're gonna have a bad time. That's why I go for formats that allow for a wider knowledge base or skill set, which gives more people a chance to win and thus increase the fun everyone has. I'll give you a specific example: when "Studio Ghibli films" came up as a topic, one of the contestants looked like she was asked to perform a Latin Mass. Even with a topic that you would think the average attendee would know something about, I found someone who didn't necessarily know. Imagine if I tried to do something harder. Now this is not to say that all anime trivia is bad. It's just that you need to be very careful in its use and implementation.
That being said, when I pitch Laundry List for Kuro, it will likely be more fandom-centric simply by nature of that convention. However, I'll still try to keep it light on trivia and focus more the creativity a game like this can encourage.

Okay I DEFINITELY came in way too late then because most of the topics I saw were "hobbies" and "school subjects." Thanks for keeping me honest and I'll have to stop by for your entire panel if it happens again! I still definitely approve and keep doing what you're doing!

Yeah, you came into the "I should make 4 games worth of material, just in case this runs short" portion of the program. ^^;

I would have happily guest-judged any giant robot category :3 Although that would have been even scarier for the contestants than Ghibli movies.
I will also say that two of the panels on Sunday morning, "Buying from Japan on the Cheap" and "Cel Collecting and Framing" had a lot of really useful information. Information which is potentially dangerous to my wallet.

The "10 Conventions a Year" was the most relevant panel to my interests at this con, and it was very interesting. Some of her advice I can't take (such as drawing porn to make money), but it was very useful. I still can't believe she came all the way from the home of the Winnipeg Jets for this.

We had a LOT of people come in from out of the immediate area for Sangawa this year. A disturbing amount actually. Come on, you can draw porn.
If I were a bit younger and had more vacation time that panel would have probably been more appealing to me. Tekko eats up 80% of my vacation time each year. (7 Days for Tekko Proper, 1 Day for Sangawa, 3 days for Kuro, 1-2 Day for misc tekko work)(12-13 days just to tekko alone. Next year, it will probably be 2 days for Sangawa.) I don't get real vacations often anymore.
If I didn't love what I did, it would suck.
I need to look at pre-regs to see where people came from.
Your fate is mine to decide
