I think the whole a la carte idea would just be too messy. There are far too many combinations to have to consider. For example, I generally don't have the time to attend panels because I am in Artist Alley, but I do run panels. Would I have to buy the full panels option? What if someone doesn't want to do anything on the 3rd floor except something in Main Events? How would that be enforced? Even if by some twist of fate, the con had a comprehensive a la carte system along with enough staff who fully understood said system to check all the proper areas, believe me, people would find loopholes. There are people out there who would try specifically to exploit the system just for the sake of exploiting the system. I'm not saying necessarily the an a la carte system would be undo-able. I'm just saying it would be such a headache to create and enforce that most likely it would upset more people than it would appease.

Is there an approximate breakdown of how badges were purchased this year? Like about what percentage of the attendees pre-regged vs bought badges at door each of the 3 days?

Hi all,

1. Regarding the space used for Dealers and Artists: the use of this space is literally the one biggest organizational factor that made it possible for us to return to the DLLCC. The ballroom is tons more expensive than any other space within the building. We literally saved like $10,000 on that room alone by moving vendors downstairs, and that doesn't include the amount saved by not renting additional rooms for Artist Alley and CCGs. It's unfortunate that the building is laid out as it is but we'll work to make the most of it.

When renting space for Tekko, do you get a choice when picking the big rooms on the 2nd floor, or is it just that you rent one of them and the DLLCC decides which? I think it would be a huge help if the 3rd floor walkway is one of the ones that overlooks the AA/Dealer's Room.

One thing that I know was a bit of a problem as far as some of the artists were concerned was the "Do Not Touch" rules. I understand that for many pieces this is necessary, but there are others like the scarves and plushies that need to be touched to really be appreciated. Many artists encourage people to pick up and interact with their merchandise. Maybe there could be an option when art is entered as to whether or not it is "Do Not Touch."

I agree with the whiteboard idea. I think it would be especially useful for all the group photo shoots. Not only would it help cosplayers who didn't see the info online find these shoots, but also it would help photographers who are just looking to take pictures.
