Tekkoshocon X Art Show
Tekkoshocon is proud to showcase the artistic talents of the anime community! The Art Show features a wide array of original artworks in many mediums. Many pieces in the art show are for sale via posted bids, while others are entered for display only. Awards are given to pieces selected by staff as well as by attendee popular vote throughout the show. We look forward to seeing all the wonderful works the community has to offer!
Art Show Rules
These rules are current as of September 5, 2011 and may be subject to change.
1. All participants must have a valid Tekkoshocon X badge. Anyone with a badge is welcome to participate; this includes staff, dealers, panelists, and guests!
2. There is a limit of 6 pieces per artist, 2 "large" works and 4 "small" works. Large works are defined as roughly measuring equal to or greater than 10"w and 12.5"h. Small works are defined as pieces roughly measuring less than 10"w by 12.5"h. Items sold and displayed together as sets are counted as one entry and must be measured as a
whole.
3. All art in the show must be the original work of the submitting Artist. Traced, copied, or otherwise plagiarized work will not be accepted. Prints of the Artists' original work are accepted provided the Artist can attest that it is his/her own work.
4. Artwork must be suitable for all ages. Graphically violent or explicitly sexual pieces will not be accepted.
5. Artwork must be ready to display by hanging or suitable for display on a table. For 2-D work this means either matting the piece or providing it in a light mylar frame. You must supply your own dress form or hangers for textile art. Artwork will be lightly taped on the back with removable painters tape for hanging and identification purposes; please make note to the Art Show staff if you do not want your item taped.
6. The Art Show operates a silent auction. If you want to participate, you will obtain and fill out an auction card upon entering your pieces. A bid sheet will be displayed with your artwork. If you do not want to sell your piece, you may mark the card as "NFS" or "Not for Sale".
7. If you have business cards to display with your pieces, you must provide your own holder. (For example, a small hangable envelope.) You may also provide a small flyer no larger than 4" x 6" to display with your art. If you have a table in the Artist Alley, feel free to advertise your location in the flyer!
8. All art should fit loosely into an anime convention theme. Artwork inspired by or relating to Japanese culture is also accepted and highly encouraged!
9. Any unsold art not picked up by the Artist by the end of the convention becomes the property of Tekkoshocon Inc. If a situation arises and you are not able to pick up your artwork by the end of the convention, notify the Art Show Department Head or Lieutenant before Sunday. Artists can pick up any unsold artwork on Sunday between 11:30am to 3pm and 3:30pm to 5pm. Payment for sold work may be picked up between 3:30pm and 5pm.
11. The Art Show Department Head and Lieutenant reserve the right to refuse any piece of art from the Art Show. Tekkoshocon, Inc. and its staff are not responsible for loss, theft or damage to any pieces entered in the Art Show. However, theft of or inflicting damage to anything in the Art Show is cause for removal from the convention without refund.
12. All decisions of the Art Show Department Head and Lieutenant are final.
